Hybrid Wind Energy System A 230 foot wind turbine was completed the last week in February 2005 and is an important step in integrating renewable energy into Minnesota's rural economies as well as developing Minnesota's research and education strength around renewable energy.
Biomass District Heating & Cooling System The Minnesota Legislature has recently funded the biomass research and demonstration facility in the 2005 bonding bill. The plant will be used to expolore the gasification technology in converting plant based fuel stocks, such as corn stover and other agricultural-based plant materials produced in the region, into energy in the form of synthetic gas that is intended to replace the use of fossil fules such as natural gas.
